DOORS not opening after i login

When i login in doors 9.2 using Adminsitrator doors does nothing.

I created a new repository (change the value in the registry to point to new location od data ) and now when i login DOORs opens up but no projects.

Is my old data repository corrupted? How can i fix it and retrieve my projects ?

thanks

I have attached my old data repository

Did not look at your zip. It looks like the database that you have redirected to has no Projects; no doubt recently you initialized it with a new Adminstrator password. Run the following and it may surprise you to which server you are actually connected:

print
"DOORS Server:\t" (getenv(
"DOORSDATA"))
"\n" string ErrMess = confCopyFile(
"fDBFolderLoc_NoSuchFile_qwertyuiop.xyz",
"yyy", confSystem) print
"DOORS Folder in here somewhere:\t" ErrMess
"\n"

Hi Louie,

i did not change any server setting, and it still the same server name
so when i copy the data repository that is not working on another machine it behaves the same way, meaning DOORS not open after logging in.

So i found the problem. it was the users directory under each project data was corrupted.I was able to restore it and everything is back to normal.

thanks

Its confusing when you say you log into DOORS but then DOORS not working. You are indeed logging in but there's nothing for you to see; like looking in an empty bag.

I am not following you. You seem to have adjusted your client settings to point to a new database "repository" and the new one exists but has no Projects. Does it have any users? That seems normal when you start a new database.

If that's what you did, then you can adjust your settings back and point to the old database and you should see your old Projects. You need not permanantly change your settings, you can override them easily with a desktop shortcut using the " -d" switch, perhaps:

"c:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\DOORS\bin\doors.exe" -d 12345@MyDoorsServer

Not sure what would happen if you tried to have two DOORS services running on the server, both pointing to the same data file location. I would expect that the 2nd service would fail to start since it would detect locks left by the first service.
